I used to live above the Hawley Arms in Camden from 2001 to 2003.

Within those two years I witnessed a couple of mushroom shops opening on Camden High Street.

I used to get mushroom tea from them on weekends until they started selling boxes of golden teachers, thai etc.

One of the shop owners then proceeded to sell weed over the counter Amsterdm style.

I bet you all this high profile business attracted the wrong kind of attention: these people were merely exploiting the pre-2005 legal loophole whereas you could not be convicted if you were carrying fresh mushrooms while feigning ignorance about their true nature (as opposed to dry, boiled,etc).

with the current Top team at the helm of this Government though I fear there is zero chances of them downgrading them from class A, they are more likely to deprt any user they catch.

Remember David Nutt? He used to be the UK Gov advisor and expert about the real dangers of drugs up until he resigned.

Didn't one of them top UK politicians labelled self-apointed experts and academics as something not to rely on yesterday afternoon?

I still lvie in North London but I tend not to go to Camden except if I have friends visiting from abroad.

It's overmarketised - all the old stalls have gone and have been replaced with shiny new developments.

It took a good chunk of the Camden soul away but I guess if you're looking for a RocknRoll Tshirt it's still the place to go to in London.

The city has changed so much in 20 years, I remember going to Kensington Markets in the 90s.

“Loss of Hope” is a very real condition and is hugely responsible for modern freakish levels of depression, anxiety and suicide.

Faith and trust have been eroded. The pandemic shone a harsh light on the weakness and ineptitude of global governance and our institutions. We feel helpless and vulnerable to future crisis, be it economic, health, mass migration or climate change.

In the Western world, democracy is failing us and capitalism actually IS eating itself.

Ambition seems drained. I know young people who don’t only have no idea what they want to do but can’t decide if that matters. Amongst older people I know ‘Quiet Quitters’- those who boast of doing the very minimum required to not actually be fired, normally working from home that they now insist is an entitlement. I know people adept at crafting lives on benefits.

As a result I think people deciding they need to ‘look after #1’, and whilst this may sound like a noble intention it manifests itself as getting whatever you can and gaming the system. He who stores the most toilet rolls during a shortage ‘Wins’!

Lack of trust breeds cynicism and disrespect. Conspiracy theories rage across the plague of social media. Ultimately we feel helpless- we know The Storm is coming but we don’t know how to stop or even influence it.

So how do we cope? zz87 gives a great list of examples. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way and out of our own heads and do things just for others (which of course I don’t do nearly enough).

There really are huge benefits to unplugging devices and listing what is good right now in our lives. During a few hard times I’ve asked myself “what are the things I really enjoy most in life?” and then relentlessly pursued those even when shamelessly hedonistic. I still find old friends hugely therapeutic- probably because we only talk about the old times!😂

And I get high every day. And drink fine tequila. And know one person loves me. All of which make me happy…😍

This might not apply to you since you said you try to be sociable but a lot of people spend too much time online and I think any bigga struggling with the modern world should consider that. Stay away from the internet! (except for littlebiggy ofcourse! haha).

Just live your own life, your life is small, your life isn't a global network of american-led idiots who have formed a virtual mob to have a faux opinion on everything that doesn't involve them so don't worry about those losers and go outside and live that nice life that you're dreaming of.

Don't let your life be all about work/money either slow things down whenever you get the chance. Walk by a river, go to the countryside, go to the beach, go to a museum, go to a library, a walking tour, a sports event, an art class, join a hobby club, volunteer, plant some seeds, get on a train or a bus to nowhere... go do real life outside things and notice the people who don't have a phone in their hand, those are your new friends. There's still lots of nice, friendly caring people out there, they just don't have social media accounts.

Also if you can join an environmental group near you; litter picking, river cleaning, beach combing, tree planting, biodiversity conservation, there is always something worthwhile to be done. Some people will huff and roll their eyes at that but if you want to feel good then do good... that's all I say I'm not preaching.

Either that or sit in your filth and misery and join the internet mob in raising your blood pressure by virtually yelling at clouds.... there are no right or wrong answers its your life!

I wrote this as a reminder to myself as much as anything else btw... go get on with your own life ZZ! :)

i would agree with most of these sentiments but perhaps it's more like the depression of an aged society than the environment.

- poverty is as its lowest point in human history.

- less people dying from war than any point in human history.

- access to travel, entertainment and even fashion are at their highest point in human history.

there is something going on for sure but it's deeper than the economy or social conditions which our ancestors would have killed for.

Polly touched on something that I found to be hugely beneficial and that is helping others as much as you can.

Even if it’s only your own circle of friends/family start there and work outwards, help a local charity or whatever you can do to help someone local in need…
Do what you can to help others less fortunate is something I live by and there are loads of ways you can do that that don’t need explanation, you’re adults you can work it out! :)

Also, I got rid of any social media crap apps a few years ago and it’s such a relief not to check the bloody phone for hours on end staring vacantly at a screen.
Get out and about, go for a walk with your loved ones or even just on your own for half an hour makes a huge difference.

Physical exercise is also really important. I usually run a few times a week and as I’m in my mid 50s I’m almost the same weight I was when I was 18 which is incredible, and that’s down to exercise and another really important element - eating healthily.

Take regular breaks from imbibing, I’m on an enforced one at the moment as picked up a nasty chest infection. It does wonders to abstain from indulgence once on a while. It cleans out the mind and keeps you fresh. Also try and drink lots of water every day at least 4 litres if you can although 2 is fine, you’ll be surprised at how much dehydration affects your physical well-being.

Smile. Smile when your talk to people or if you make eye contact (generally) I’m not talking about grinning like an idiot at folks, that liable to get you some funny looks!
Read a book, I also try not to watch the news so much on tv. Try and read trusted news sources either in print or online.

Don’t watch garbage tv.

Try and create! If you enjoy drawing or painting or have something you can physically ‘do’ is such a useful de stresser.

The key to happiness for me is how I treat others. Simples

People are more callous, many are brought up from childhood to be like that.
The elite are rushing their plans through and it's causing a lot of folks to notice.
There's less money going around now, more stress in the world, America is being systematically destroyed from the inside like many western countries.
Don't let your identity be what you consume or wear, smoke the herb and enjoy it, try appreciating nature, get out and breath the good air, don't be around people that suck the life from you.

I think weed allows you to question everything you see and hear. Again, probably too much at times but it is worrying what is going on.

My "bubble" is ok and makes me happy but it's the interactions I have with others out with that which leave me drained. Conversations present as a struggle for most and there's just a lack of interest shown to anybody.

I envy the era my parents grew up in. There was no money then too but at least people had a bit about them, style, music etc

I've been smoking a lot of concentrates lately so my tolerances are through the roof and the bong hits haven't really been touching the sides but with the Qwet in the mix they really hit the spot.
I was mashed potatoes.
Though I will say I think to get the best out of this you might want to dab or vape it.

I think its quite impressive to get that out of shake, it really makes me want to try Qwet made with quality bud.

The Qwet Infused vape juice also works well, i switched from 50/50 Shatter/D9 to this for a couple of days and didn't really skip a beat, personally I'm not a huge fan of the taste of vape juice and when I went back to my normal cart I felt a kick so there's maybe a bit of room for improvement in future batches strength wise but there's no denying this stuff works, I use for pain as much as enjoyment nowadays so I would've noticed pretty quickly if it didn't.

Apologies on my part, I had a busy week at work and yesterday was the day I finally got round to trying. Firstly what can I say, I've only just managed to touch back down on planet earth. I gotta say, that shake exceeded my expectations. I ain't never smoked it before, but it gave me a similar quality high to the street weed I usually go for, which is actually pretty decent. And honestly, it had a nice flavor too, with a touch of sage or mint on the aftertaste. Worth the value.
